Remember these wonderful people?

Our Poundland Ambassadors have been tasked with a Poundland Challenge once again to prove that shopping with us is the perfect way to save money this Christmas.
We gave them £20 each to buy a number of products from various categories from our Christmas range such as, Christmas wrapping , Christmas gifts, Christmas party, Christmas tree decorations and Christmas sweets and off they went.
Below we have included some key snippets from their Christmas reviews, please follow the links to see more great pictures and to find out more about their store experience, quality and value of our products.
Jennifer – There’s some things that I just don’t think of Poundland for and everytime I go in it surprises me! When asked to buy some Christmas gifts I was actually spoilt for choice, from CD’s books and DVD’s to toiletry sets and homeware, the aisles had more to offer than I realised. After careful consideration I bought a Martina Cole Hardback and a pair of gorgeously soft fluffy bed-socks.

Mary - I am really pleased with the items and so far the quality is really good. The shopping experience itself was quite fun, and staff were helpful when I asked about their different ranges etc. Some may point their nose up a little at ‘bargain stores’ such as Poundland and the like, but as we all know, money doesn’t grow on tress and I for one am never shy of hunting out that next bargain

Joanne - If you are looking for gifts or little stocking fillers Poundland have a good choice, I chose a tin of biscuits for an elderly aunt, retro robot and reusable hand warmers to keep those hands toasty.

Sarah A - The best way to make any home have that festive feel is to get the decorations up. One of our family traditions is that they go up on the 1st December. Poundland have a great selection to chose from, whether your looking for tree decorations from tinsel to baubles. We opted for some lovely clip on glittered butterflies, purple tinsel and some bauble hooks.

Today we have put our Christmas Decorations up at Poundland HQ and we are fully getting into the Christmas spirit!
Of course we have many of our decorations from Poundland ranging from little fake table trees to 5ft trees laden with baubles, tinsel – the works. Perhaps what I should tell you is that each of our desks are in competition with each other (all in the name of charity of course) and on the 14th December we will be raising money for Macmillan where all donations for the days activities including the best dressed desk competition will be given to Macmillan Cancer Support.
So have you put up your decorations yet? Get ready with Poundland and you will be saving money on the all the essentials including tree decs, room decs and loads more. Take a look at our Christmas range here – everything from novelty, gifting, tableware, tree decorations, room decorations and more – each item at just £1 each!
Did you know Poundland has sold over 34,000 fake Christmas trees this year? That’s almost over half the amount sold this time last year. An artificial tree is more economical, can be reused year on year and doesn’t require the care required of a real tree; So is it a surprise more people are faking it in 2012?
We have a range of artificial trees for your workplace or home and our customers love the Christmas range and value Poundland has to offer to help you decorate your tree and home as we have everything from baubles to fake snow and every colour tinsel you could possibly imagine! This year we have various trends including Christmas Brights, Nordic and Frosty throughout our Christmas range allowing you to coordinate your decks.
Recently we have been featured in the Sunday Mirror “Homes” with Zena Alli where Jess Contomichalos shows us how to sort out a whole new set of decorations for Christmas for less than £100.
We are fortunate to have been able to create a time lapse video of the photography shoot the Sunday Mirror did for the piece. This is a great behind the scenes video of the team creating the beautiful scene below.

Everyone knows that a summer glow makes you feel confident, sexy and healthy. However getting a natural tan in the UK in December would be near impossible and the UV of sun beds can cause skin damage so it’s not for everyone. So how do you get that sun kissed look and without breaking the bank?
You can opt for the salon tan, which is done professionally at a salon or a spa and can range from air brush tans to full body exfoliation and self tan applications. This can often be an expensive treatment so it pays to shop around. There are a number of sites which offer instant discounts such as Groupon, we had a search around and full body spray tan can be found from £9.50.
If you really want to fake a summer tan and apply a self tanner yourself then you will need to follow some basic rules to get that even great looking result without patches, streaks and orange hands!
- Allowing your pores to close before self tanning is a must so remember to wax up to 48 hours before and shave and exfoliate at least 24 hours before this will prevent little dots where the tan gathers in the pores, if you take a shower before you apply the tan, leave a few hours for your body too cool down and the pores to close.
- Moisturising all over before tanning can cause discolouration of the skin tone, the exception is the extremely dry areas of the body such as knees, elbows, ankles and feet. Self tan can pool in dry areas and become darker than the rest of your body so moisturising these dry areas this will help develop a more even tan. After you have your tan it is recommended that you moisturise fully after each shower/bath to help prolong the tan and exfoliate three days after to help begin to remove the tan evenly.
- Wearing gloves will stop your hands becoming orange, you can use latex gloves, plastic gloves or a mitt, if you do use your bare hands then add some thick moisturiser and leave it till it’s dry before applying; do not forget to wash your hands afterwards!
To tan your face you can build a tan by using make-up and bronzing powders, if you have to use self tanner you can buy moisturising tanners that gradually build up to get a more even natural tan, and then apply the bronzer/ make-up after. Using a self tanner for the body on the face can take patience and practice and you should always avoid the eyes!
Poundland have a great range of bronzing products all for just £1; we have a brand new Chit-Chat Mosaic Bronzer that not only gives you a lovely glow but has a shimmer for that party look. Click here for a neat you tube Chit-Chat Bronzer review by littlemissstyleguru on Youtube
