As we head towards the World Cup season, we have great range of products at Poundland that will get you enthusiastic about supporting England!  We have an introductory range in stores now including England stationary, notepads and pens that are sure to appeal to the younger England fans out there!  Check out you local store (products available in England stores only)  from Wednesday 12th May for the full range – take a look below at a sneek-peek preview of some of the items to feature in the range. 

We just wanted to let all you blog readers know about the Weight Watchers competition that we are currently running in our Poundland stores!!

All you need to do is purchase a 6-bag multipack of Weight Watchers crisps from Poundland and see if you find the Golden ticket inside – it really is that simple!!

If you are lucky enough to find the golden ticket, you will be going on a trip to Disneyland Paris!!  The prizes includes accommodation, Eurostar Tickets, 5 day Disneyland Pass  and €500 Spending Money!!   There are also 10 runner-up prizes to be won – you may also find golden tickets with iPods on and I would say thats not a bad prize either! 

The competition starts on Wednesday 28th April and finishes on Tuesday 14th September.

Happy Thursday to you all!  The weekend is nearly here and that means new Poundland store openings for you all the attend.  In preparation for them, take a look at the blogs below that we have received from the two Corrie stars that will be opening a couple of the stores!!

Firstly Andy Whyment – “I ’m really looking forward to meeting the customers at St. Austell this Saturday,  I’m glad the Volcano dust has drifted away as I’m flying down from Manchester! I’ve travelled all around the UK opening Poundland stores during the past 12 months it’s been great to meet everyone and love giving away lots of £1 vouchers and announcing the ‘check-out challenge’ winners.  I’m also looking forward to Belfast on 1st May and Inverurie on 8th May.  I enjoy singing with my band in my spare time, and if you twist my arm I may give you a tune at the store!  Come and meet me for an autograph or have your photo taken with me, it’s the Soap Awards on the 8th May so fingers crossed Coronation Street have received lots of votes!  I’ll be opening the stores at 10am, make sure you are early as there are always big crowds!  Andy”

“I am very pleased to be asked to open up a new Poundland store in Cheltenham. This opening kills two birds with one stone; not only does it promise to provide direct employment for 25 staff, which let’s face it is not to be sniffed at in the present climate, it also enables me to donate all my proceeds on the day to the establishment of a new mental health charity, Soteria Network. I look forward to meeting the people of Cheltenham on Saturday 24th April.”
